Borracho Beans Mexican Style Pinto Beans by Nutritious Eats

– 2 teaspoon s olive oil
– 1 lb pinto beans, rinsed and sorted (soaked overnight- optional)
– 1 jalapeno, seeds removed and diced
– 1 red bell pepper diced
– 1 small onion diced
– 2 large cloves garlic, diced
– 5 slices thick cut bacon, chopped
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1 teaspoon cumin
– 1 can/bottle Mexican beer
– 2 cups reduced sodium chicken broth
– 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chilis, including the juices
– Fresh cilantro
