– 1 pound ground turkey
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
– 1 cup diced red onion (about 1/2 large red onion)
– 1 sweet bell pepper, diced (about 1 cup)
– 2 small carrots, diced (about 1/2 cup)
– 3 small stalks of celery, diced (about 1/2 cup)
– 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
– 1 teaspoon cumin powder
– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
– 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne (more to taste)
– 2 tablespoons tomato paste

– 1 can (14.5 ounce) petite diced tomatoes
