– 2 cups white onion, chopped
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1 3/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth (or vegetable broth if you want it to be vegan)
– 5 dried pasilla chiles (a 2 oz package), broken into pieces, seeds removed
– 2 corn tortillas, torn into small pieces
– 1/4 cup peanut butter
– 2 Tbs mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
– 2 Tbs raw sugar
– 1 tsp oregano
– 1 tsp cocoa powder
– 1/2 tsp cinnamon
– 1/2 tsp salt
– black pepper, to taste
– cayenne pepper, to taste (optional – you may not need it depending on the heat of your chiles!)
