Spaghetti Sauce with Whole Tomatoes by Grandma Behrendt’s Kitchen

tomatoes, onion, chicken broth, olive oil, garlic, bay leaf, dried herbs, salt, tomato paste

– 7.5 lbs whole tomatoes (unpeeled, cut into chunks and cored)
– 1 cup onion chopped
– 1/2 cup chicken broth (leave out if you have really juicy tomatoes)
– 1 tbsp olive oil
– 2 tbsp minced garlic
– 2 Bay leaves
– 3 tbsp dried herbs, basil, oregano, and/or Italian seasoning (your choice)
– 2 tsp salt (or PC Magic)
– 12 oz tomato paste (two 6 oz cans. You may need 3 or 4 if your tomatoes are really juicy)
